Our client is currently seeking an accountant to join their team in either Craigavon or Armagh.
SALARY: £21.46 per hour
JOB PURPOSE
This role aims to support the Senior Finance Manager in overseeing Capital Accounting matters and Management Accounts, with a specific focus on supervising staff.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in collecting and organising financial accounting information for the annual Abstract of Accounts, adhering to guidelines and legal deadlines.
- Manage and update the fixed asset system, contributing to financial accounting notes and statements.
- Provide supervision to staff in Creditors and Debtors teams, collaborating with other managers across the Council.
- Aid in bank account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in revenue, wages, and petty cash accounts, and processing transfers on the electronic banking system.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts by developing reports and conducting variance analysis.
- Support the Finance team in identifying, extracting, and collating accurate information for timely inclusion in the annual accounts. Also, liaise with Local Government Auditors regarding Year-end Accounts.
6-month temporary contract, with the possibility of extension.
