Financial Accountant

Salary: £42,000- £48,000 depending on experience

Job type: Full-time, fixed-term contract (starting Oct/ Nov 2023 and Ends Feb/ March 2025)

Job duties:

– Be commercially aware, understanding and anticipating the needs of both operations and management

– Interpret data and assess its value; be able to present the findings to relevant stakeholders concisely. Providing quality and insightful variance commentaries that describe the past but more importantly, dictate actions for the future

– Be able to form and stand over recommendations, have a well-developed sense of ethics and be prepared to stand up for these principles

– Preparation of monthly management accounts including processing of month-end journals and detailed analysis

– Responsible for accounts submission monthly

– Completing Balance Sheet review and balance sheet control accounts monthly, including GRNI, VAT and payroll accounts, and maintaining appropriate documentation to support the audit.

– Point of contact to support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Tax team

– Support the R&D team with grant claims

– Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant policies and reporting timescales and organise resources to ensure timely and accurate completion of all reporting requirements both internal and external

– Work alongside the Compliance function to maintain and improve internal controls to ensure the safeguarding of assets and the reliability of financial information

Job Criteria:

– Educated to degree level, with an accounting qualification, preferably CIMA. ACCA or ACA qualifications will be considered for candidates able to show an excellent match in experience for the outlined role

– 2+ Years PQE working in a finance function ideally within a manufacturing / operational environment.

– Experience working in a fast-paced environment

– Effective use of the ERP system

Monday to Thursday 8 am-5 pm

Friday 8 am-2 pm
