About the potential next-step

Our Valued Client, one of the world’s largest sports retailers, is looking for someone with a flair for Treasury.

In Ireland, their Finance team provides services to the European Supply Chain as well as the Irish retail and E-commerce business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the daily treasury operations (request funds from HQ, the input of manual payments, automatic payments follow-up, fraud checks, bank reconciliation, etc)
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet and P&L accounts related to treasury operations (investigation of overdue items and collaboration with other teams to eliminate them)
  • Managing all month-end accounting and reporting tasks, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation and financial reports
  • Cash flow preparation and analysis (anticipation of cash in and cash out, payment terms analysis, challenge terms of incoming payment)
  • Continuous work on payment process improvement
  • Supporting the statutory accounting activities
  • Handle payments inquiries from other departments
  • Ensure financial records are in compliance with IFRS and local requirements. Consistently maintain appropriate internal controls and uphold company policies and procedures
  • Interact successfully with external auditors and supports interim and year-end audits by providing timely and accurate data and communication
  • Assisting the finance team and tax team with collecting required information with regard to tax returns
  • Ad hoc assistance with the completion or management of projects across the global finance team. Support with Continuous Process Improvement Projects
  • Other ad hoc duties as requested

Who are we looking for?

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 2 years experience working in a similar role, preferably working in a similar business environment
  • Good understanding of accounting principles (IFRS knowledge as a plus), debits and credits, and reconciliation skills
  • An attentive person able to deal accurately with payments
  • Curious and critical thinking to challenge the existing processes
  • A flexible individual who can cope with competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Self-starter who can manage fluctuating workloads and projects using a high degree of initiative
  • Solution-oriented
  • Advances excel skills
  • Fluent in English
