Location: Dublin, Ireland (with European responsibilities)

Job Description:
This role will involve managing the company’s tax and compliance functions across multiple European markets, ensuring all obligations are met efficiently and strategically. The ideal candidate will have experience handling tax matters for a multi-jurisdictional organisation and will be proactive in optimising tax strategies to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of tax compliance and reporting for the group, ensuring accurate and timely filings in all jurisdictions.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies that optimise the company’s tax position and minimise liabilities while ensuring full compliance with Irish and European tax laws.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and filing of corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and other necessary tax documents.
  • Act as the main point of contact with tax authorities and external auditors, managing any tax-related disputes or issues that arise.
  • Advise senior management and cross-functional teams on tax matters, providing strategic insight to support business decision-making and planning.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in tax legislation across Ireland and Europe, assessing the impact on the company and advising on necessary actions.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis to support new business initiatives and geographical expansion.
  • Manage global mobility tax matters, including compliance and planning for employees on international assignments. Ensure tax obligations are met in both the home and host countries.
  • Collaborate with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate and compliant reporting of compensation and benefits for globally mobile employees.
  • Establish and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential issues and implement strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Provide training and support to employees on tax and compliance-related matters, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in compliance regulations, ensuring the company remains up-to-date and compliant.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in tax, ideally with exposure to managing tax functions in a multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish and European tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
