About the potential next-step

Tax Manager

The Opportunity

This newly created role reports directly to the Group CFO and will have direct access to the Executive Team, with regular exposure to the Board. You will work collaboratively across the finance function and wider business units to ensure full tax compliance across the Group and maintain strong governance standards.

To succeed in this role, you will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record in a tax function, ideally with exposure to UK and Irish tax legislation. You will have a natural bias towards data-driven decision-making, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be results-driven, curious, and a self-starter. You will enjoy working in an entrepreneurial environment, delivering practical results, and working collaboratively to achieve commercial objectives.

Our regulated environment and disruptive business model require someone with strong operational focus, the ability to understand complex market and accounting processes, and a strategic outlook. We are redefining our sector and are looking for ambitious candidates to join our team and contribute to our growth story.

Key Responsibilities: Tax Management

  • Manage the preparation and submission of all corporate tax returns for the Group.
  • Oversee compliance with VAT, payroll taxes, sector-specific levies, and other relevant tax obligations.
  • Lead tax reporting under applicable accounting standards, including current and deferred tax computations and disclosures.
  • Monitor changes in UK, Irish, and EU tax legislation (e.g., Pillar Two, sector-specific incentives) and assess their impact.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external tax advisors.
  • Own transfer pricing requirements across the Group, ensuring appropriate documentation and support are maintained.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Maintain and develop all tax policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal reviews to ensure adherence to tax policies and procedures (leveraging external expertise where required).
  • Develop a tax risk management framework that integrates into the broader Group risk reporting structure.
  • Present tax-related risks to the Risk Committee.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in shaping the Group’s tax strategy alongside senior leadership and external tax consultants.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a tax-focused role, ideally within industry.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax, VAT, payroll taxes, and transfer pricing.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines, organise workload effectively, and take initiative.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and providing actionable insights.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to understand and solve complex business problems.
  • High attention to detail and ability to synthesise large volumes of data.
  • Self-starter who enjoys ownership while working collaboratively.
  • Clear, concise, and structured communication skills.
  • Willingness to take a hands-on approach to drive results.
