Job Description
The ideal candidate will possess significant accounting experience with industrial properties, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication skills.
Job Duties:
- Prepare financial statements.
- Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers.
- Post journal entries for accrued expenses and revenue.
- Maintain and record fixed assets, including depreciation/amortization.
- Ensure accurate monthly recording of revenue and expenses.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities, reconciling intercompany receivables and payables.
- Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, researching and reporting on significant variances and trends.
- Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules as per the monthly close schedule.
- Assist in budget and forecast preparation.
- Coordinate annual audit and tax document preparation.
- Track and monitor tenant lease obligations.
- Prepare reporting packages for lenders and joint venture partners, calculating and monitoring financial debt covenants and joint venture equity contributions and distributions.
- Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of relevant industrial property accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- Preferred public accounting experience and/or CPA designation.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with MRI, Yardi, and/or other real estate accounting software systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
