Project Accountant

• $70,000 – $90,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits

The Opportunity

This role offers hands-on exposure to project accounting within a collaborative finance team. You’ll support project financials and partner with Project Managers while developing deeper experience in job costing, billing, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with project accounting for multiple active projects
• Maintain job cost, WIP, and revenue tracking schedules
• Support percentage-of-completion accounting and forecasting
• Prepare budget vs. actual reporting and basic margin analysis
• Assist with project billings, contract updates, and documentation
• Track change orders, commitments, and cost-to-complete
• Work closely with Project Managers on financial reporting needs
• Support the month-end close related to project accounting
• Help ensure contract compliance and audit support
• Contribute to process improvements and system initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2–4 years of project or construction accounting experience
• Exposure to job costing, WIP, or project billing
• Experience in AEC, consulting, construction, or project-based environments preferred
• ERP experience (any project-based system a plus)
• Strong Excel skills
• CPA-track or interest in growth a plus
