Project Accountant

The Role

HireIQ is pleased to partner with a notable construction and fit-out firm based in Bergen County.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor project budgets, track actual costs versus estimates, and investigate variances.
• Prepare and manage project cost reports, forecasts, and profitability analyses.
• Review and approve project-related invoices, subcontractor payments, and purchase orders.
• Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with construction contracts.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and finance teams to align on project status and costs.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and coordinate billing schedules with clients.
• Maintain job cost files and ensure accuracy of WIP (Work In Progress) reporting.
• Support month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations related to projects.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and external audit requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of project audits and financial statements as needed.

The Person

• Minimum of one year of construction accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Sage 100, Sage Timberline, or QuickBooks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
