About the company: 

This is an ideal opportunity for any qualified accountant to take their career to the next level where you will be reporting directly to the FD and playing a hands on role within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of monthly management accounts across business divisions within set deadlines, including analysis of variances.
  • Administration of HMRC Construction Industry Scheme with monthly subcontractors, including reconciliation of returns produced by Sage
  • Completion of UK and ROI VAT/PAYE/RCT returns
  • Assist with year-end audit and liaison to help with smooth year-end close
  • Internal audit and internal controls
  • Supervising credit control, purchase ledger, sales ledger, subcontractors and wages ledger
  • Generating and processing of general ledger journals for various divisions.
  • Maintaining an organised documentation system for the accounting system
  • Assisting finance colleagues with subcontractors, sales, contract sales, payroll, stock management, purchase ledgers and payroll as and when required to meet deadlines
  • Review and improve the completeness of all Finance processes and help develop the profitability reporting with suggestions on improvements
  • Responsibility for complying with and in the management of Health & Safety as stated in the company safety policy
  • To comply at all times with the company Fair Employment policies
  • Any other duties as reasonably required.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA & QBE)
  • Minimum of 1 year employed experience
  • Highly commercial with accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Computer literate particularly with Microsoft products (specifically to have advanced Excel skills)
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
  • Ability to manage time/workload effectively
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Driven and self-motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
