About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in VAT and other indirect taxes to take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients and play a key role in advising on indirect tax compliance, strategy, and risk management.

The successful candidate will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external clients, providing commercially sound VAT advice in line with local and international legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver a wide range of indirect tax advisory and compliance engagements.
• Provide strategic VAT guidance across domestic and cross-border transactions.
• Lead VAT compliance reviews and support with audit defense and queries from tax authorities.
• Liaise with clients, colleagues, and tax authorities to resolve technical VAT issues.
• Keep up to date with changes in indirect tax legislation and translate these into business impact.
• Develop and mentor junior members of the tax team.
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and client relationship management.

Key Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in indirect tax (in practice or in-house).
• Strong knowledge of VAT, ideally with exposure to EU VAT or sector-specific regimes (e.g. financial services, real estate, tech).
• Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proven experience managing projects and client relationships.
• Ability to translate complex legislation into practical advice.
