Group Tax Manager

Group Tax Manager – Practice trained? – First move to industry, yes please! 

You will join a dedicated Group Tax Team offering you exposure to various tax heads whilst not needing previous experience. This is an opportunity for a practice-trained tax professional to take their first step into industry within an employer that values work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Group Tax Manager, you will support the Head of Tax in managing all tax matters including:

• Preparing and reviewing direct, indirect, and operational tax returns.
• Calculating and reviewing tax provisions for financial statements and monthly reports.
• Calculating and reviewing tax figures for quarterly regulatory reports.
• Providing tax advice and support to business units within the Group.
• Consulting on various ad hoc tax projects.
• Assisting with tax aspects of significant investment transactions.
• Promoting and helping develop Group-wide tax policies and procedures.
• Staying updated on current tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Managing and developing the Group Tax specialist and trainee.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with business units.
• Ensuring timely and efficient resolution of tax issues and meeting all deadlines.
• Identifying and implementing improvements in quality, efficiency, and timeliness within the Group Tax team.

Essential:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) and/or CTA qualified.

Minimum 4 years experience in a tax environment (practice or industry).

Excellent written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
