Group Accountant

About the role
This role will be all-encompassing and include:

• Preparation of weekly & monthly management accounts for group companies with provision of P&L, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
• Preparation of consolidated accounts to include intercompany elimination and reconciliation.
• General ledger maintenance and investigation.
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts to include audit files and liaising with external auditors.
• Assisting in the preparation of the monthly Group reporting pack.
• Review of VAT and Corporation Tax returns ensuring compliance for various group companies.
• Data entry/extraction from the organisation’s various systems and maintenance of accurate information therein.
• Reconciliation of physical inventory counts to accounting records.
• Both short & long-term cash flow management.
• Proactively contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the organisation’s financial processes & controls.
• Assisting as necessary in other aspects of the organisation’s finance functions (purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll)
• Support other business functions with financial reporting.
• Assisting with budgeting/planning/forecasting within the various business units.
• Ad-hoc duties as and when required

Your skills and experience 

To be considered for this position you must demonstrate the following;

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (Desirable)
• Strong background in financial accounting (in particular FRS102) and financial processes
• Strong interpersonal & time management skills
• Strong IT proficiency, in particular with Excel
• PowerBI experience (Desirable)
