About the potential next-step

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our finance department, and providing key financial insights to our Senior Management Team. You will be number 2 in finance, supporting the Finance Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all financial reporting, including management accounts, annual accounts, and statutory accounts
  • Manage and supervise the finance team, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to the Senior Management Team to support strategic decision making
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure accurate financial planning and monitoring of company performance
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to the Senior Management Team and other stakeholders
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professionals as required

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant or strong QBE candidate
  • A minimum of 2/3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and experience with financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions
  • Experience managing a team and developing staff
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with accounting software and Microsoft Office
