Financial Controller

HireIQ are looking for a Financial Controller to join a leading food manufacturing company based in Newry.

Job Description:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company. This includes managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, forecasting future financial performance, and developing financial strategies to ensure the company’s success.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the accounting team, ensuring all financial activities are performed accurately and timely.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements and reports for senior management.
• Manage the budgeting process, ensuring budgets are developed and managed effectively.
• Analyse financial data and provide recommendations to senior management to improve financial performance.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize the company’s financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
• Participate in strategic planning, including mergers and acquisitions, and contribute to the company’s overall growth.

Requirements:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other relevant professional certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing company.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
