We are seeking a dynamic individual to take on a pivotal role as a Financial Controller for our client in a commercial focused role. Our client, a leading player within their industry, have created this new role within the business due to exceptional growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Development: Lead and nurture a high-performing financial team, fostering growth and collaboration.
  2. Financial Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, ensuring seamless financial processes.
  3. Enhancing Financial Systems: Continuously review and enhance financial systems, internal controls, and procedures to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  4. Project Costing: Contribute to project analysis and costing to support decision-making and cost management.
  5. Profit Margin Analysis: Analyze profit margins and prepare sales reports to identify growth opportunities.
  6. Financial Modeling and Cash Flow: Develop financial models and manage cash flow to ensure the company’s financial stability.
  7. Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare detailed monthly management accounts and provide insightful commentary.
  8. Financial Analysis and KPI Reporting: Deliver in-depth financial analysis and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting to guide strategic decisions.
  9. Statutory Compliance: Manage statutory and year-end closing processes for all Irish entities, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  10. Fixed Asset Management: Oversee fixed asset management and the review of capital expenditures.
  11. Performance Reporting: Compile performance reports to provide insights into the company’s financial health.
  12. Special Projects: Engage in various financial projects aimed at enhancing the company’s financial wellbeing.
  13. Debt Monitoring: Monitor debt levels and reconcile settlements to optimize financial stability.
  14. Budget and Forecast Preparation: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, aiding in financial planning.
  15. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including directors, suppliers, banks, insurers, auditors, and revenue authorities.
  16. Strategic Financial Support: Provide financial guidance to the senior management team, aiding in key financial decisions.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant: Hold a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ACA).
  • Experience: Possess 3-5 years of experience as a Financial Controller, preferably in a busy SME environment. Experience within the construction or motor sector is preferred.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Exhibit the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders, and effectively communicate financial information to non-financial personnel.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of commercial accounting and business practices.
  • Technical Proficiency: Display excellent technical knowledge of accounting systems, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication Skills: Communicate effectively and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Show exceptional attention to detail in all financial matters.
  • Team Leadership: Have a proven ability to manage and lead a team.
