As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will have a significant impact on the financial strategy, decision-making, and long-term sustainability. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and analyse financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
    • Recommend cost-saving strategies and efficiency improvements.
  3. Cash Flow Management:
    • Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
    • Implement cash flow forecasting and optimize working capital.
    • Evaluate investment opportunities and financial risks.
  4. Financial Controls and Compliance:
    • Establish and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
    • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
  5. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
    • Foster a collaborative and staff-oriented work environment.
    • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.
  6. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency enhancements.
    • Streamline financial processes to improve accuracy and productivity.
  7. Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate financial results and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, FCCA, CIMA) or a strong qualified experienced accountant
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar financial leadership role in a manufacturing company.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A high degree of integrity and commitment to financial ethics.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
