Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies in financial reporting.
  • Provide analysis and commentary on financial performance, highlighting key trends, variances, and areas of concern.
  • Take charge of the timely and accurate preparation of management accounts, providing crucial financial information to department heads and management teams.
  • Analyze financial data and present insights to support strategic planning and budgetary control.
  • Work closely with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets, tracking actual performance against budgeted targets.
  • Provide variance analysis and recommendations to ensure adherence to financial plans.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of VAT returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, providing regular updates on cash forecasts to support cash flow planning and optimization.
  • Implement cash management strategies to meet operational and investment needs.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Perform periodic balance sheet reconciliations to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance financial reporting systems, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supervise the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payroll calculations and disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll and statutory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar finance leadership role with a strong focus on financial reporting, management accounts, VAT returns, payroll, and reconciliations within the property or construction industry.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and management accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with property financials and related metrics.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Professional certification such as CPA/ACA/ACCA is an advantage.
