The Assistant Accountant will play an integral role within the accounts function, you’ll be responsible for completing and assisting with…

• Provide accurate financial reports and analysis
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, financial projections, and cash flow reports.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including invoicing, revenue reporting, purchase orders, supplier payments, and credit control.
• Manage all banking activities, reconciliations, cash management, and payroll processing.
• Prepare year-end financial statements and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Maintain and improve financial systems, controls, and automated processes to enhance efficiency.
• Monitor and analyse financial performance, KPIs, and working capital to support business decisions.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements, liaising with HMRC and Companies House as needed.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Accounts Technician or Part Qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / IATI) (or qualified by experience) with at least 1 year relevant experience
• Strong Excel skills
• A good team player with a strong professional work ethic.
• Experience of Sage 50 would be preferable but not essential.
