Our very busy manufacturing firm are looking for their new Cost Accountant to join the team! Reporting to the Financial Controller!

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1) Preparation of accurate standard costs for all stock products and produced aggregates updated on a quarterly basis
2) Develop standard reporting and analysis of monthly labour, raw material and other costs associated with manufactured goods using appropriate KPIs
3) Monthly internal financial review with Operations Management on production costs
4) Review (on a quarterly basis) of standard costs against actual costs, investigating variances, explanation of variances to Senior Management
5) Maintain accurate accounting records for stock valuations on AX and BI reports
6) Ensure the accuracy of production records that feed into standard costings
7) Reconciliation of raw materials used against expected consumption based on bill of materials and investigation of variances with management
8) Partnering with operations on understanding and developing ways to drive value in the business including support to Lean-type activities in the business
9) Preparation and updating the Performance Assurance Plan for Operations
10) Assist the Sales department in determining inflationary price rises for customers based on costs of production
11) Develop stock costings for all new products/trials
12) Provide stock costing and production volume data used for external reporting such as EPDs and carbon tracking
13) Integration with all departments (sales, despatch, production, etc) to ensure accurate and timely control of the financial impact of transactions impacting stock costings
14) Ensure that internal procedures and controls are consistently applied and help develop improved systems (AX, Power BI and other systems) in a rapidly changing business environment
15) Assisting with the annual budgeting process specifically relating to production costs
16) Assisting in the provision of information to external auditors
17) Any other duties and tasks commensurate with the role and/or as required by the FC within your capabilities.

Essential and Desired Criteria:
– Qualified (ACA ACCA CIMA) Accountant or a very strong qualified by experience candidate
– Minimum of 3 years experience within a commercial or manufacturing accounts environment
– Advanced Excel skills
– Full knowledge of Financial and Management accounting principles and techniques
– Experience with accountancy software and proficiency in Excel packages
– Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
– Experience of MS Dynamics AX, Power BI
