About the company 

This is a broad and varied role with responsibility across management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, cashflow, payroll, VAT, financial reporting and transactional finance. The successful candidate will also support KPI reporting, commercial decision-making, process improvement and the ongoing development of the wider finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant looking to take ownership of a broad finance role within a growing organisation.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, commentary and variance analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
• Preparation of KPI and performance reporting
• Oversight of sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and credit control
• End-to-end payroll and HMRC submissions
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Year-end accounts preparation and liaison with external advisors
• Cost and activity analysis to support commercial decision-making
• Developing and improving finance systems, processes and internal controls
• Managing, mentoring and supporting the finance team
• Other ad-hoc duties as required

Requirements: 

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience
• Minimum 3-4 years’ relevant finance experience
• Strong management accounting experience
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience using accounting systems such as Sage or Xero
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
