Accounts Technician

Accounting Technician – Greater Belfast – Boutique Accountancy firm

The Role:

As an Accounting Technician you will play a key role within our office. This role will require you to assist the business in delivering accountancy information and services to our existing client base, consisting of companies, partnerships and sole traders.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping services (using relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel)
• Annual Accounts preparation
• Tax return preparation
• VAT return preparation

• Assisting with Payroll / CIS enquiries
• Liaising directly with clients via email and telephone
• General administration support to other team members
• Relevant administrative duties as required

Eligibility Criteria:

• You may be a Qualified Accounting Technician, Trainee Accounting Technician or qualified by experience

• Candidates will ideally hold an ATI qualification or a Part Professional qualification
•  A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within the accountancy sector
• Sound accounting skills and tax knowledge
• Experience of using Tax Calc (or similar software)
• Good level of computer literacy, including using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

• An ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English (orally and written formats)

• Experience in a busy office
• Ability to adopt to change and multi-task work within a varied client portfolio

• Able to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines under minimal supervision
• Working in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Positive approach to building relationships with clients and team members
