The Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role within the finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. You will be responsible for assisting in financial processes, statutory returns, and reconciliations while supporting the day-to-day operations of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Finance Manager in the daily operations of the finance function
  • Processing salary recharges and intercompany invoicing across multiple entities
  • Posting salary allocations for both weekly and monthly payroll
  • Preparing and submitting CIS and RCT returns
  • Assisting with VAT return preparation for review by senior finance personnel
  • Managing bank and credit card reconciliations, including processing receipts and payments
  • Processing weekly payroll for relevant business divisions
  • Preparing and posting month-end journals related to prepayments, fixed assets, and internal plant transactions
  • Reconciling intercompany transactions
  • Maintaining HP schedules and aligning them with the trial balance
  • Overseeing CITB training grant schedules and ensuring accurate claims
  • Handling credit account applications and liaising with relevant stakeholders
  • Attending weekly finance meetings and contributing to team discussions
  • Undertaking ad hoc duties to support the wider finance team as required
