A leader in their specialised field, and with increased demand for their product has led to rapid expansion of a local company and turned them into a globally recognised brand. As a result of this they have a need to add an Accounts Assistant to their busy finance team.
About the Job
Reporting to the Finance Manager the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties
Key responsibilities
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Preparing and entering general ledger journals into the financial system
- Processing weekly payroll
- Processing monthly PAYE and Construction Industry Scheme payments to HMRC and payment of other wage deductions
- Uploading and paying all pension payments
- Assist with processing customer queries and payment requests
- Assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing when required
- Reconciliation of Direct Debits and all other supplier payments
- Reconcile all balance sheet items including accruals, pre payments, trade debtors creditors, loans, intercompany accounts, PAYE and VAT etc
- Credit Control
- Other ad hoc activities as required by a busy accounts function
Previous experience
- Will have previous knowledge of the above and be able to process high volumes, whilst maintaining accuracy
- Be proficient in excel
- Good attention to detail is essential with excellent organisational skills
