Accounting Manager

Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, and maintaining the integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with NetSuite and Payroll systems and will be adept at managing a team within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

• Oversee and manage an Accounts Payable team of 10, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Set team goals and ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency

Accounts Payable Management:

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payment processing.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms and address any billing issues.

General Accounting Duties:

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial data, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement.

System Management & Improvement:

• Utilize and optimize NetSuite for financial reporting, accounts payable, and payroll management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting function, implementing best practices to increase efficiency.

Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal controls.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights into financial performance and trends.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of the company’s budget, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of NetSuite and Payroll systems is required.
• Experience in the logistics or supply chain industry is a plus.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
