General Ledger Accountant

The Company 

They are looking for a general ledger Accountant to boost their well-established team.

The Role

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing financial statements, reconciling balances, and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and post journal entries for various financial transactions, such as accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other adjustments as needed.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and intercompany accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and anomalies, and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide requested documentation and explanations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Prepare various financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and supporting schedules for management and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and tax regulations, and stay updated on changes in accounting rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and other departments, to provide financial information and support business initiatives.

The Person

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc…)
• Industry experience preferable
