About the Job
As Private Client Tax Assistant Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of private clients, acting as a key point of contact and delivering personal tax compliance alongside advisory work.
You will play an important role in building trusted client relationships, identifying advisory opportunities and working closely with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver an excellent client experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties…
- Manage a varied portfolio of private clients, acting as their primary point of contact.
- Deliver personal tax compliance work and contribute to advisory projects.
- Ensure client work is completed in line with agreed budgets and internal quality standards.
- Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge through training, research and monitoring changes in legislation and HMRC policy.
- Attend client meetings and support relationship and workflow management.
- Monitor work-in-progress and manage client billing effectively.
- Identify advisory opportunities within your portfolio and across the wider firm’s service offering.
- Support one-off compliance and advisory assignments as required.
- Liaise with internal teams on client matters and build relationships with partners and directors across service lines.
- Supervise junior team members involved in the delivery of private client tax work.
Previous experience
- CTA and/or ATT qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Strong private client tax compliance knowledge.
- Previous advisory experience within private client tax.
- Experience managing or supporting a varied portfolio of private clients.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Proactive, organised and detail-focused approach.
- Good commercial awareness and ability to identify wider client opportunities.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
- Experience in, or an interest in, the agricultural sector would be desirable.
