About the Role
This is a high-impact role working directly with the CEO, investment team, fund administrator, audit/tax advisors, lenders, investors, and third-party property managers. The firm has an active pipeline across multifamily, senior living, and luxury residential development, with complex fund structures, deal-level entities, audited transactions, waterfalls, and GP promote economics.
The ideal candidate will bring strong real estate accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to operate as both a strategic finance partner and hands-on accounting leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Own accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and cash management across the firm, funds, and deal-level entities
- Review fund financials, quarterly NAVs, waterfalls, promote calculations, and investor-facing reporting
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, compliance, lender reporting, and regulatory matters with external advisors
- Oversee third-party fund administrator and property manager reporting
- Strengthen internal controls, reporting workflows, and accounting processes
- Partner with the CEO & CIO and investment/development teams on deal activity, portfolio reporting, and business planning
- Help train and manage a junior accountant
Candidate Profile
- Strong real estate accounting, fund accounting, private equity, investment management, or development accounting experience
- CPA strongly preferred, though highly qualified non-CPA candidates may be considered
- Experience with fund structures, deal-level entities, audits, tax coordination, waterfalls, and investor reporting
- Strong technical accounting foundation with excellent attention to detail
- Experience working with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, lenders, investors, and property managers
- QuickBooks, Yardi exposure, and advanced Excel skills preferred
- Demonstrated job stability, ownership mentality, and ability to build scalable processes
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of approximately $175,000 – $250,000, depending on experience
