About the job of Senior Payroll Officer

Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, the Senior Payroll Associate will support the delivery of global payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions within a fast-paced corporate environment.

  • Prepare international end-to-end payroll data accurately and on time for each pay cycle
  • Liaise effectively with international payroll providers to ensure smooth payroll processing
  • Process all payroll changes, including new starters, leavers, variable pay and benefits
  • Calculate and process back pay, unpaid leave and holiday adjustments
  • Reconcile and process pension deductions accurately
  • Generate payroll and reporting outputs from Workday and other systems
  • Maintain accurate payroll data input files and documentation
  • Support first and second-level payroll reviews across the group
  • Lead payroll sign-off meetings with People/HR teams
  • Prepare and submit payment requests across multiple jurisdictions
  • Assist with complex payroll matters and escalations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processes
  • Resolve payroll queries via ticketing systems, email and calls
  • Provide general payroll administration, including filing and document management

Your skills & experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a payroll environment (Essential)
  • Experience supporting multi-country or complex payroll operations (Desirable)
  • CIPP qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems such as Workday or similar (Desirable)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (Essential)
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Flexible approach to workload during peak payroll periods
