The Company:
Our public sector client a leading governing body is recruiting for a payroll officer to support the Payroll Manager, Payroll Supervisor, and Pension Administrator in ensuring the proper, accurate, and timely payment of Council employees and Elected Members, aligned with legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as Council policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a comprehensive payroll service, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in line with statutory legislation.
- Implement and process National Joint Council (NJC) and Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) Terms and Conditions of Service.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain accurate and secure employee records and payroll instructions.
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Payroll system, implementing new procedures as necessary.
- Assist in processing contractual and statutory schemes, including sick leave and maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave.
Your Experience:
- 5 GCSEs (grades A-C) or equivalent/ comparable including English Language and Maths.
- Two years’ relevant experience to include: Processing of Payroll, Pensions and HMRC regulations; Regular use of a computerised payroll system; Regular use of Microsoft Office packages.
